The Investment
Club Book
"What
a great book! It is time that the individual be shown how to truly
safeguard their future and invest with intelligence. This book
does exactly that. It you want to secure your retirement, read
this book."
-Suze Orman, CFP, author of You've Earned It, Don't Lose
It!
The
Smart Money club in Fort Lauderdale has tripled its money in less
than ten years!
Taffy, a club based in Overland Park, Kansas, has had an annual average
return of 28.9 percent, compared to 11.26 percent for the S &
P 500 stock index.
From coast to coast ordinary people are getting together. They're
each investing as little as ten dollars a month. They're making more
money than they ever could with traditionally safe investments-and
achieving a higher rate of return than the average broker. Most of
all, they're doing it with very little risk. A fun way to socialize
and learn investing, investment clubs give little people the big clout
they need to "beat the street."
A
guide that also explains basic financial terms and concepts, The Investment
Club Book reveals how the most successful clubs manage their investments,
how to join a club or start one up yourself, plus how to:
-Evaluate
companies to find the best investments
-Choose the best sources of stock information for your club members
to use
-Diversify
your portfolio -Benefit from dollar-cost averaging -Invest in foreign
markets
-Protect
your portfolio from stock market swings ...and much more!
"Every
investor should read John Wasik's book. He teaches you how to
make more money than the Wall Street big boys."
-Alan

in Mutual Funds
"A must read for-first-time investors. Many with the discipline
to follow these strategies just plain get rich."

"A useful guide for taking charge of your financial life.
John Wasik has written a book full of practical information for
anyone interested in starting or joining an investment club."
-Joseph Anthony, financial writer, author of Working for
Yourself: Full Time, Part Time, Anytime
"If you invest on a shoestring, then this is the book for
you. No more feeling left behind by all those wealthy Wall Street
aristocrats. John Wasik uncovers some of the hottest secrets to
investing and teaches you how to become your own tycoon."
-Christy
Heady, syndicated and financial journalist, author of The Complete
Idiot's Guide to Making Money on Wall Street
Author John F. Wasik claims his book is more "informational"
than "a fun read," but I'd have to disagree. While Wasik
packs in the material (this book is nothing if not comprehensive),
the most compelling part of the book to me is the "true life
stories" of successful clubs and successful club members. The
book never reads like some inspirational Reader's Digest, though,
as Wasik lets the clubs tell their own stories, stepping aside to
allow the reader to soak up hundreds of collective years of club
experience as related by otherwise-average individuals from all
across the country. Wasik may well be the most accomplished writer
of all the investment club book authors, and he approached the book
with the proper reporter's objectivity. Still, it's clear that he
is impressed with the success of the investment club concept, and
by the members profiled in The Investment Club Book. For readers
interested in the answer to the question, "why start an investment
club," this book provides the answer.
